Base 1 - The Turtles

Welcome to Base 1’s page.

My name is Miss Fowler and I am Base 1’s Class Teacher.

On this page will be information about all the exciting things we will be doing in our class throughout the year.

P.E kits should be sent in on Monday and kept in school all week. This year we shall be working with a sports coach and it is important that children have the appropriate kit to complete activities.

Homework is sent home on a Friday and should be returned completed no later than the following Wednesday. If you have any concerns please use the communication book that will be sent home. These need to be put in the basket by the door, I will then read them and action them.

Each child has a reading diary to be used at home and school. When read with at home please ensure that the reading diary is signed as this is crucial to supporting your child with their learning. Children receive rewards for reading at home and the child who reads the most each month is awarded reader of the month.

Please feel free to speak to me with any queries you may have.

Reminders

  • P.E kits need to be brought in on Monday ready for P.E.
  • Book bags need to be brought in daily.
  • Please make sure you sign reading diaries.

Value of the Month

Our value of the month for September is Respect. We will be learning what this means, how we can demonstrate it and the importance of it.

Our flag of the month for September is Iraq and we will be learning about the Iraq flag and how we say hello in their language.

Term Theme

Our topic this term is 'Space'. We have really enjoyed exploring the space provision in the classroom, especially the role play and have learnt lots of interesting facts about space, including the important role of being an astronaut and learning the names of all the planets in a song.
