OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY / GOVERNANCE

Meet our Governors.

Working together to support our school, champion our pupils and help every child thrive.

A shared commitment to our school.

Our governors are volunteers who bring together a range of knowledge, experience and perspectives from parents, school staff and the wider community.

Together, they help guide the strategic direction of Teagues Bridge Primary School, support and challenge school leaders, and ensure that the interests and wellbeing of our pupils remain central to decision-making. Governors also undertake training to develop the knowledge and skills needed for their responsibilities.

THE ROLE OF GOVERNANCE

What do our Governors do?

The governing body plays an important role in helping our school provide the best possible education and opportunities for every child.

01

Strategic direction

Governors help establish and monitor the school's vision, priorities and strategy, with a focus on improving education and outcomes for pupils.

02

Support and challenge

Governors act as critical friends to school leaders, offering constructive support while questioning and evaluating the school's performance.

03

Accountability

Governors hold school leadership to account for educational performance, oversee the effective use of resources and remain accountable to the wider school community.

How our governing body works.

School governors normally serve a four-year term of office, although individual appointments may vary according to the school's governance arrangements.

The governing body brings together representatives from different backgrounds, with skills and experience that support the effective leadership of the school.

Governors undertake appropriate training, review the school's performance and work collectively to help ensure that Teagues Bridge continues to provide a positive learning environment for its pupils.

THE BEATING HEART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Together, we help our school flourish.

Our thanks go to every governor who generously gives their time and expertise to support the children, families and staff of Teagues Bridge Primary School.
