Hello, my name is Mr Church (class teacher) and I work alongside my Teaching Assistant: Mrs Piskin.
For the first half of the Autumn term, Base 6 will be studying the theme: Potions. Together, we will plan many exciting activities which link to our theme and enhance our learning.
Homework is handed out on Friday and must be returned into school the following Wednesday.
PE kits should be brought to school on Monday and taken home on Friday. PE will normally take place on Monday and Friday. Please ensure that children also have trainers or pumps in their PE bags for when we go outside.
Value of the Month
Our Value of the Month is Thoughtfulness.
This term’s theme is called: Potions.
Potion: a poison, a mixture, an aromatic brew, a vapour, a liquid or sticky goo. Welcome to the amazing magical world of potions and their properties. This science led theme will have children investigating states of matter with solids, liquids and gases. Children will also investigate reversible and irreversible changes when materials are heated or cooled. In Literacy we will be learning about: labels and instructions, letter writing, play scripts, poetry and non-chronological reports, linked to our theme.
Our Love To Read book will be Alice’s adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
